This vineyard’s
limestone plateau was one of the most favored terroirs in the scorching heat and drought of 2003. The Chateau is owned by Gérard Perse who also owns Pavie and Monbusquet. A
controversial figure, Perse scandalized St. Emilion traditionalists by making opulent, lavish wines
loaded with sweet, toasty oak. As for this wine, Parker calls it “a brilliant
wine.” (RP 96)
